SFFSat - July 27

Science Fiction Fantasy Saturday (SFFSat) is a place where a bunch of us post snippets from our written works and also shoot the breeze a little. And before I get ahead of myself, thanks and appreciation as always to those who stop by and leave fantastic comments.

So, where were we last time?
Our heroine and her bumbling partner, Mason, have run out of the bridge of the old ship (and yes, I've decided to make it a ship-ship) and are en route to their drop ship...

A little preamble for those who don't know: Two characters on an old ship that looked like it originated from the 1960s. They discover a creature that looks suspiciously like a dinosaur, but more like a dragon...they scramble.
You can catch the previous ones:
Part 1: here.
Part 2: here.
Part 3: here.
Part 4: here.
Part 5: here.

And now for this week...after diving for cover, our heroine has but a brief moment to survey the threat...

Our legs propelled us down the same route we took as we boarded the vessel, and straight to the waiting drop ship on the deck. The sooner we got off the ancient tanker and blew it out of the water, the better. Dragon-dinosaur and everything!
In the back of my mind, I cursed our employer. Sometimes, I little heads up would be nice. Science vessel, my eyeball! It was a freaking freak house. How else would one explain an old 1960s ship, the maritime kind, materializing out of nowhere like a ghost? The thing was close to 600 years old, and by all rights, it should’ve crumbled up into fine rust particles or sunk to the bottom of the ocean—freak show creature and all.

(PS: I'm taking another break for August. It's that time of the year when holidays are needed to ensure sanity is maintained. See ya all again in September!!)

If you are interested in participating in next weeks SFFSat, just click HERE, and follow the rules. Sign up is open every Wednesday - and if you're on Twitter, use the #SFFSat hashtag.

Cheers!
