Six Sentence Sunday - Sept 18

Six Sentence Sunday! Again from the recently released The Master Key.  But, after today, I'll be taking a short break, and then introducing you to the final in the trilogy: The Eternal Knot

Today I introduce you to Michael Ho...

The holographic image of Michael Ho—lifelike and actual size—cast itself into the centre of the room. His neat black hair was slickly combed back against his scalp. His mixed-Asian features were smooth, creamy, and composed in his accustomed pose of faux pleasantness. He looked like an enlightened spiritualist, hands clasped before him like a monk.

Six Sentence Sunday - Sept 11

Six Sentence Sunday!  And yes, I'm still promoting my latest release The Master Key.

Today we have a sticky situation, where John is trying his best to say the rights things, without getting flayed alive.

“Well,” she looked at him as through he were the biggest moron in the known universe. “Duhh. I mean, yes, but…no. What I mean is, I didn’t ask because you people don’t seem to wear rings anymore. In this century, that is.”
He replied carefully. “Some still do—traditions die hard. It’s a matter of preference. And rings are bothersome in times of combat. They get in the way…” He sounded too much like a man making excuses so he clamped his mouth shut.

Six Sentence Sunday - Sept 4

Six Sentence Sunday time again!  Once more, a short snippet from the newly released The Master Key.

Here we have an interesting situation.  John is intimidating a particularly nasty little individual.

“I don’t believe you could kill him. He’s very strong and skilled,” she persisted. “How did you kill him?”
He waited a beat, watching her. “With my hands. It was personal, you see.”
Involuntarily, she flicked her eyes to his hands. He’d mimicked her by clasping them before him, and could see her beginning to squirm under his close inspection. She unclasped her own hands, placed them at her sides, one fist balled tightly.

Six Sentence Sunday - August 28

Here it is again, another Six Sentence Sunday!  Again, a short snippet from the newly released The Master Key.

Here we have Simon contemplating a certain Governor of the space station.

“Give a person a little authority and it goes straight to their head,” Simon muttered to himself. “Even if they’ve been doing it for the last fifteen years.”
Personally, Simon thought Mwenye needed to leave the space station more often, maybe get a little fresh air—find a woman, or man, to divert his frustrations—whatever tickled his fancy.

Six Sentence Sunday - August 21

Another Six Sentence Sunday - wow, time flies quickly!  Here is another short snippet from the newly released The Master Key.

We were escorted straight to the observation deck and given an impressive view of the Scrap Yard. Between us, floating like an aerodynamic dick, a stocky yet luxuriously sleek gunship—a sci-fi fanatics wet dream. Riddled with mounted guns seen and unseen; at this very moment their guns were aimed at us, and the Scrap Yard. From the looks of it, we were in stalemate.

(Josie's point of view of a space station.)

Six Sentence Sunday - August 14

I took a short break from participating in Six Sentence Sunday as I had to deal with various things, but I'm back now.  Here is another short snippet from the newly released The Master Key.

She ate with the aloof and regal air expected of a woman in her current standing—she’d been practising—and the gruff, single-mindedness of a combat soldier.
“You’ve a healthy appetite,” James commented, enthralled.
“So I’ve been told. I missed my dinner,” she replied pointedly, glaring back. “I was hungry.”

My heroine Josie keeps getting herself into trouble.  And what's she doing with this James dude?

Six Sentence Sunday - July 17

Wow, a week certainly flies.  Once again, it's Six Sunday...and I wasn't going to participate this weekend, saying that I'm travelling.  But, considering that I'm already travelled, and here...  So, here it is, a short snippet from the newly released The Master Key.

It was early morning, not yet seven, and Adam still lounged in his robes. Solitary confinement had somewhat diminished his strict wardrobe habits, causing him to spend half the day in his sleepwear before he showered and made himself ready for evening. Dinner was still something that he made sure he was properly attired for—despite eating alone.

Hmm, who's this Adam dude?  If you haven't read The Lancaster Rule, you've no idea.  Don't worry, though, his character is explained in The Master Key.

Thanks again to everyone who drops by to read these tasty snippets and leaving wonderful comments.

If you want to know a little bit more about The Master Key, here's a little non-blurb:
In this second book of the trilogy, the heroine, Josie, now married to world president John Lancaster, and begins her new life in the future. But all is not idyllic as a dangerous man from her past returns as old enemies return to plague her life.
Revelations of Josie's past, three hundred years ago, surface and begin to unfold, every question she has ever wanted to know is answered. Events lead her to the Scrap Yard, a cybernetics space station where she must battle it out with her enemies.

Six Sentence Sunday - July 10

Six Sunday again!  What a busy week it's been - what with the release of The Master Key and all.  Woohoo!!  So, to keep shouting out its release, here, once again, is a snippet from it.

“My instructions are to deal directly with you. Should you not cooperate, or prove not to be who you appear to be, I am to kill the cook and anyone who interferes.”
“Leave her out of this. She has nothing to do with any of it.” Josie spoke for the first time, steel in her voice. She flicked a glance to Mrs. Patel, who stood rooted in a corner, pressed up against a bookcase to their right, and staring wide-eyed at the man.
“That is the point. Innocence sometimes can be such a burden.”

Oooh, wonder what will happen next!  Why don't you check out The Master Key... Hey, did I mention its up on Kindle too?

Six Sentence Sunday - July 03

It's Six Sunday again!  I missed out last Sunday mainly because I clean forgot!!  Oopsie.
Thanks again to everyone who drops by to read these tasty snippets and leaving wonderful comments.

For today's Six, I'll once again be teasing you with a little treat from The Master Key which is due out THIS MONTH!! Tomorrow, if I'm not mistaken (Sequel to The Lancaster Rule)

Xiang, the messenger, a fifty-odd year old mentally retarded man had been detained, questioned, found insensible, and sent to the clinic’s head trauma unit for observation. No one could’ve guessed that in two days time, he would be found dead in his room from a slow-working poison.

Hmm, wondering how Xiang got himself mixed up being a doomed messenger?  Why don't you check out The Master Key, out TOMORROW from Champagne Books!!!

Six Sentence Sunday - June 19

It's Six Sunday again!  Thanks to everyone who drops by to read these tasty snippets and leaving wonderful comments.

For today's Six, I'll once again be teasing you with a little treat from The Master Key which is due out this July. (Sequel to The Lancaster Rule)

Josie still wasn’t accustomed to having automated droids around, especially those that looked all too human—waxy, artificial complexion aside. She returned a squint-eyed stare and gave Crocker—John’s wry sense of humour in naming the cooking droid after the legendary Betty—a wide berth before planting herself on a kitchen stool.

As you can see, Josie's isn't too fond of some things in the future...

Six Sentence Sunday - June 12

Hello again!  Thanks to everyone who drops by to read these tasty snippets and leaving wonderful comments.

For today's Six, I'll once again be teasing you with a little treat from The Master Key which is due out this July. (Sequel to The Lancaster Rule)

In this scene, my protagonist Josie is "picking a fight" with Simon.  They share a special relationship based on witty remarks (mostly Simon) and insults (mostly Simon again).

“Josie,” Simon grumbled but obviously enjoying himself. “I’m not taking you to eat at some fast-food outlet. They serve nothing but poison in places like that—processed poison.”
“I don’t care. It’s my stomach! And Fried City is still around. That’s f*****g unbelievable.”
“What is this obsession with food?” Simon frowned.
“I do not have an obsession with food. And since when do you care about what I eat?”
Despite her fretful manner, she seemed touched to know that Simon cared by allowing a quick tug of a smile at the corner of her mouth.
